New materials regarding research in the fields of architecture and urban construction are being presented. The authors also focus on the history of the creation of little-known buildings of interest, on the development of local architectural traditions, on new attributions, and introduce recently discovered archive materials. A number of papers are dedicated to the issues of architectural and urban planning development of historical towns and cities or study the formation of architectural ensembles. The edition also includes papers that are devoted to theoretical historical-architectural problems, to biographies of architects, or analyze artistic approaches and concepts.

Two Churches of Moscow Architect A. V. Kuznetsov

The article is devoted to two early works of Alexander Vasilyevich Kuznetsov, an influential Moscow architect of the first half of the 20th century. The two churches are: the Old Believers’ churches in Belaya Krinitsa and Climauti. Now they are located in two different countries: Ukraine and Romania. On the basis of magazine publications and A. V. Kuznetsov’s drawings that the article introduces into academic circulation for the first time the author substantiates the churches’ attribution, clarifies the history of construction and its context. It also studies the transformation of the initial plan. In addition, the article adds new information to A. V. Kuznetsov’s professional biography.
