Architectural “Rossica” in the Collection of Albertina Museum in Vienna

Albertina Museum in Vienna has the significant collection of Russian architectural drawings of the 18th century (80 units). The article describes in detail the groups of materials from this collection, united by the common authorship or circumstances of creation. The attribution of some of the drawings connected with the activities of F. B. Rastrelli is clarified. A group of drawings of the most significant buildings of St. Petersburg, which is practically similar to two other large collections of Russian drawings in Stockholm and Dublin, is identified. The assumption that during the reign of Elizabeth there had been a program to create sets of drawings of the most important buildings of St. Petersburg for diplomatic gifts and other representative purposes is expressed and explained.
