New materials regarding research in the fields of architecture and urban construction are being presented. The authors also focus on the history of the creation of little-known buildings of interest, on the development of local architectural traditions, on new attributions, and introduce recently discovered archive materials. A number of papers are dedicated to the issues of architectural and urban planning development of historical towns and cities or study the formation of architectural ensembles. The edition also includes papers that are devoted to theoretical historical-architectural problems, to biographies of architects, or analyze artistic approaches and concepts.

The Formation of the Seashore Façade of Kranz (modern Zelenogradsk of the Kaliningrad Region) in the late 19th — early 20th Century: Architectural and Urban Planning Aspect
The coastal development of the resort town of Kranz was completed in the late 19th-early 20th century and remained almost intact until the end of World War II. Kranz plans dating to 1850, 1884, 1904 and the 1910s show how the coastline of the resort was gradually occupied by various free-standing buildings of different types — from small villas to hotels, resembling palaces, their fronts facing the sea. At that period wood construction was very popular in Kranz, this material being used not only for entire edifices, but also for different adjacent constructions, such as verandas, galleries, balconies, richly decorated with carvings in the style of the Art Nouveau epoch. A retrospective look on the formation of the coastal appearance of Kranz demonstrates that the complex of buildings, constructed at the turn of the century, reflects the broad specter of artistic experiments of unknown architects working in the Art Nouveau style, as well as in turning to its national and historic variants.
