«Imperial Yachts» Pavilion in Peterhof: the Myth and the Reality

The article reflects the results of the historical and bibliographic studies of 2012 of the building of the «Imperial Yachts» Museum in Peterhof. For many years, the name of the object was interpreted as «Imperial» or «Royal Рavilion», «The House on the Pier». It was believed that the pavilion had been built in the middle of 19th century, presumably by the architect N. L. Benois. Discovered archival materials made it possible to pinpoint the time of the construction of the «Imperial Radio Station» (this was the initial purpose of the pavilion), learn the name of the author of the project and determine the place of the unique object in the complex of Peterhof Military Harbor.
