Architecture without Analogues. The Architecture of Wooden Industrial Buildings of the Altai Territory in the First Half of the 20th Century

The authors offer some materials collected during field research in the Altai Region, conducted from 1988 to 1992. Analysis is given regarding three different types of wooden buildings. These are: the horse ranch of Tumentsevski horse breeding farm, a mill situated in the settlement of Ust-Pristan’ and Granary “Mastodont”, erected in the town Kamen-na-Obi. These edifices are an example of the general structure of agricultural complexes that were erected from 1910 to 1930 in Russia. All the mentioned buildings are united by the unique scheme of their construction solutions and have no analogues in world architecture.
