Certain Features of the Implementation of Architectural Projects in Late 19th — Early 20th Century Russia (on the basis of works by Lev Kekushev)

The author focuses our attention on the possibility that certain architectural or draft drawings by Lev Kekushev, an influential master of the late 19th — early 20th century, were later used by other architects and clients. The facts mentioned here, proving that such cases did take place, expand our notions about the creative laboratory of the leading Russian architects of the time. Apart from that, the instances given here illustrate some little-known aspects connected with the work of major architects in the provinces, which may have included selling already realized plans that could be repeatedly used. Although we are looking only at the projects of Lev Kekushev, similar facts can be observed in the biographies of other architects.
