New materials regarding research in the fields of architecture and urban construction are being presented. The authors also focus on the history of the creation of little-known buildings of interest, on the development of local architectural traditions, on new attributions, and introduce recently discovered archive materials. A number of papers are dedicated to the issues of architectural and urban planning development of historical towns and cities or study the formation of architectural ensembles. The edition also includes papers that are devoted to theoretical historical-architectural problems, to biographies of architects, or analyze artistic approaches and concepts.

French Classicism in the Oeuvre of M. F. Kazakov. Reconstruction of the Evolution of Projects Connected with the Moscow University Building
Research devoted to the influence of French Classicism in connection with Moscow architecture of the age of Enlightenment has certain obstacles: the destruction in the 1812th fire of not only the buildings themselves, but also the disappearance of documents, pertaining to their construction. One may view as a rare exception the extant drafts of the Moscow University, signed by M. Kazakov. Analyzing them we may retrace the gradual changes in the initial project, conducted by another master in the style of French 18th century Neoclassicism.
