New materials regarding research in the fields of architecture and urban construction are being presented. The authors also focus on the history of the creation of little-known buildings of interest, on the development of local architectural traditions, on new attributions, and introduce recently discovered archive materials. A number of papers are dedicated to the issues of architectural and urban planning development of historical towns and cities or study the formation of architectural ensembles. The edition also includes papers that are devoted to theoretical historical-architectural problems, to biographies of architects, or analyze artistic approaches and concepts.

Sytnyi Market and the House of Municipal Offices. History of Design and Construction
The paper describes in detail, for the first time, the history of the appearance in St. Petersburg of such constructions as the St. Petersburg Sytnyi Market and the House of Municipal Offices. The contest, involving the project of the former (1906), which became an important landmark in the city’s Art Nouveau architecture, is given special attention. The author focuses on the role of the City Duma in forming the concept of the construction. He specifically analyzes the projects, proposed by M. M. Peretyatkovich and by M. S. Lalewicz, pointing out the specific features of the building ensemble that was created by them.
