New materials regarding research in the fields of architecture and urban construction are being presented. The authors also focus on the history of the creation of little-known buildings of interest, on the development of local architectural traditions, on new attributions, and introduce recently discovered archive materials. A number of papers are dedicated to the issues of architectural and urban planning development of historical towns and cities or study the formation of architectural ensembles. The edition also includes papers that are devoted to theoretical historical-architectural problems, to biographies of architects, or analyze artistic approaches and concepts.

Procedure of Reviewing Texts

 

The authors send to the editorial council papers that must meet the following requirements.

The presented texts may be rejected by the managing editor or by his deputy without close consideration if they do not correspond with the theme of the edition or do not meet the demands regarding the form of such papers.

The papers that have been accepted are subject of subsequent review. The reviewers are expected to write a motivated reference considering the inclusion of such a paper in this edition.

The final decision regarding the publication of a paper is made at the meeting of the editorial council. The members of the latter have the right to send their reply by e-mail.

 

The papers submitted to the editorial council of the edition are subject of subsequent review by the experts of NIITIAG or invited experts from other institutions, qualified in respective fields of knowledge and having a doctoral degree. The rewiews are kept in editorial office for 5 years.

The reviewers are informed that the texts being sent by them constitute the private property of the authors and cannot be made public. The reviewers are not allowed to make copies for their own needs. Confidentiality may be infringed only in the case of declaring the materials to be invalid or falsified. The papers are read confidentially; the author of the work in question has an opportunity to read the review.

If the review regarding the paper indicates that it requires improvement by the author, then the editors send it to the author to change it. If the review is negative, the text, in accordance with the decision of the editorial council, may be subjected to a second reading. If the paper is rejected, the editors must report to the author the reasons for this action or sent him/her a copy of the review. The name of the reader can be given to the author only with the consent of the former.

In the case that the editorial council does not fully agree with the views expressed in the released paper, it has a right to include a footnote regarding the fact.

 

Formal Requirements for the Papers

 

The papers that have been submitted to the editors are subject to being reviewed. The review and editing of the texts (scientific, technical, stylistic) is conducted by NIITIAG specialists or invited experts from other institutions, qualified in corresponding fields of knowledge and having a doctoral degree, as well as by the members of the editorial council, in accordance with demands concerning scientific publications. The editorial council has the right to reject the work or to return it for improvement. The copyright rules of the materials published in the edition are set in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation.

The authors do not pay for the publication, and they do not receive any fee. Post-graduate students do not pay for the publication.

The materials are presented to the editors of the publication, strictly conforming to the following rules:

  • the size of the text cannot exceed 50000 characters, including blanks;
  • the paper must be written in the Word text editing program, type Times New Roman, size 12, interval - 1.5;
  • footnotes must be programmed automatically (in accordance with the Word text editing program);
  • illustrations are accepted with no less than 300 dpi resolution;
  • the number of illustrations must not exceed the number of pages of the text by more than 1.5;
  • the text of the paper must be recorded in a separate file named Фамилия.doc; illustrations – in separate files; the list of inscriptions for illustrations – in the file Фамилия_список_илл.doc;
  • the files of the illustrations must be numerated in accordance with the List of Illustrations; it is recommended that the text of the paper includes references to the number of the illustration;
  • the file Фамилия_список_илл.doc must include the recommendations of the author (if they exist) regarding the size of the illustrations (column, half page, page); as well as recommendations regarding the correction of the images;
  • a separate file Фамилия_сокр.doc must include the abbreviations used in the text (ГНИМА, РГИА, etc.) with their full names;
  • a separate file Фамилия_ключ.doc must include the following information:
    • key words of the text (not more than 5-7 words or combinations of words),
    • information about the author (in a fixed order, without abbreviations: full name, academic degree, place of employment and post, contact information – e-mail or telephone),
    • short summary of the paper (not more than 500 characters – important);
    • bibliography (Obligatory! Separate from the footnotes), to be included in the «Architectural Heritage» in the internet.

 

So, the materials for the edition must be presented in the form of 4 files: Фамилия.doc; Фамилия_список_илл.doc; Фамилия_сокр.doc; Фамилия_ключ.doc and files containing illustrations.

 

The authors, within the period of one or two days, receive an e-mail announcement that their paper has reached the recipient. In the case that the paper does not meet the formal requirements, it may be sent back for improvement.
